Water ski slalom log and pass tracker
Record every slalom set with line length, boat speed and buoy count, and watch your best pass climb over the season.
What a slalom log is for
A slalom set goes by fast. You ski a few passes, shorten the rope or speed up the boat, and by the next weekend it's hard to remember whether you ran 4 or 4½ at 28 off. A slalom log keeps that record so you can see real progress instead of guessing.
lake.world is a slalom pass tracker built for exactly that. For each set you log the hardest pass you skied, and your season builds up from there.
What you record for each set
| Field | Options in lake.world |
|---|---|
| Line length | 15 off (18.25 m), 22 off (16 m), 28 off (14.25 m), 32 off (13 m) |
| Boat speed | 20 to 36 mph in 2 mph steps, shown in mph or kph |
| Buoys | 1 to 6, in half-buoy steps |
"Off" is how many feet are taken off a full 75-foot slalom line, so 15 off is a 60-foot rope. A shorter line makes the pass harder.
How your best pass is ranked
Your best pass is the hardest one you've run. lake.world ranks passes by boat speed first, then line length, then buoys. That means 4 buoys at 30 mph ranks above 6 buoys at 28 mph on the same line. Once you're skiing at 36 mph, the top speed in the log, shortening the line is how you move up.
Each day's best set is also compared with the average of your two best days from the past 12 months, so you can tell a good day from an ordinary one.
Why track passes instead of just skiing
- You see the trend. A season of sets shows whether you're stuck at one speed or ready to shorten the line.
- Coaching gets easier. A coach or club friend can see exactly where your runs break down.
- It's motivating. Your personal best is right there each time you open the log.
Log from the dock
lake.world runs in your phone's browser, so there's nothing to install. You can start logging without an account, and your log saves on that device. Create a free account when you want to keep it across devices or join your club's board.
